J Cole walked on stage during Fifty’s show to perform his song and to sing high praise to Fif’s album.
50 Cent: The Final Lap Tour arrived in New York this weekend and Fifty used this chance to invite younger starts to share a stage with him. On the opening New York night, one of two scheduled and sold-out events, Fifty shared the stage with DaBaby, Yung Bleu, Flo Rida and Jeremih. The next evening, Fif brought A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Moneybagg Yo, Jadakiss and J. Cole to a venue. Cole performed “No Role Modelz” and Fifty took a back seat, ad libbing for Cole and carrying a chorus with him. By the end of the number, J Cole took a minute to pay respect to Fifty and his debut album, which until now remains the classic of the East coast hip hop:
Can I say this before I walk off this stage? Make the noise for one of the greatest niggas to ever do this shit, Fifty motherfucking Cent Curtis Jackson and “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” is the best album of all time. I don’t give a fuck what you’re talking about! It’s “Get Rich or Diy Tryin’” at No.1 and it’s “Thriller” at No.2, and I love Michael Jackson but I promise y’all that Curtis Jackson, 50 Cent, we love you for real…
A short segment of this epic collaboration made it to a summary video 50 Cent shared on his Instagram account.
