The man charged with breaking into Eminem’s house assaulted an officer in jail.
According to Detroit Free Press report, Matthew David Hughes punched a jail employee who was retrieving a food tray from Hughes’ cell in the face. The officer did not need medical attention.
Anyway, Hughes has added assault of a correction deputy to his list of charges.
The homeless man was arrested on April 5, 2020 after he broke into Eminem’s house through the window in the back and, allegedly, threatened to kill him.
Hughes was transferred to Macomb County Jail to stand trial on charges of first-degree home invasion and malicious destruction of property. A hearing is set for October, 21 in Macomb County District Court.
