One of the biggest names in battle par, Hollow Da Don, has competed in almost every league imaginable, including Shady Records Total Slaughter. He treasures the memory of spending time with Eminem but does not buy rumours that Marshall would ever return to the scene.

Talking to British podcaster Mikey T from a rooftop, Don Dotti told how after years of mingling in the circles close to Marshall, he met his idol in the same venue that would host Shady’s short-lived battle rap project:

Literally, I’m right there, like, “Yo, Em!” He was like, “Come on, I know who you are, man. You are one of my favourites!” Then Paul Rosenberg like, “Alright, come on, Em, I don’t know who the fuck is this”. It’s just me, Em, Paul Rosenberg, and the staff in the building. Alchemist was there too, and Denaun. I was right there next to The Alchemist. I met Em, chopped it up real quick, though. Boom, he went on stage and got busy. That was one of the highlights of my life.

So, knowing the battle rap scene and knowing Eminem, does Da Don think that Royce’s idea that Eminem might get involved in battles has credibility? The veteran battle rapper is highly sceptical:

I think Royce is just shooting the shit up. ‘Cause I know a hell of a people that work with Shady. I have been around Shady Records for years. Before Total Slaughter, I was around Alchemist, that’s Eminem’s DJ. I have been there when Eminem performed with JAY-Z at David Letterman. I met Eminem the day he dropped “Recovery”, and we was at the Hammerstein Ballroom, just me up there with Royce and Eminem in the green room. Nobody met Em. There were hella other celebrities in the building. [Eminem] performed and ditched. I’m kind of the same way, so I respect this.
Some people are just loners. They don’t really want to chill, they don’t like club scenes, and that’s just how he is. I’m not gonna say I know bro closely, but I don’t think he would battle because he’s more like some self type of person. He’s not like, “Imma come out here battle! Get the whole world hyped up!” He’s like, “No, I know what I do, this music shit. Nobody can fuck with me with this. And that’s what I’m cool with”. I can’t say what that man to do, but I highly doubt if he will ever battle. Unless, like, as Royce said, it’s with their own shit, if he wants to come out battle maybe Jay-Z or NAS, or somebody he feels like is in his pocket. That’s how I feel the shit should stay.
