The polls close on April 29, sending an official fan ballot for the committee’s consideration.

Eminem, who is nominated for the honour of being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the very first year he became eligible, fares well on the ballot.

In the early days of open voting, Eminem sat at No.1 on the Top 5, as the ballot reflected his fans’ enthusiasm. Strategic voting and pop alliances helped Duran Duran overtake Marshall, and now they lead with an over 200,000 votes gap.

Shady, meanwhile, remains in the respectable second position. Fans and music lovers cast over 650,000 votes for him out of almost 5 million total.

In the end, the top five artists in the public poll form one ballot weighted the same as each of the other 900 ballots submitted by experts. But even if we can cast only one vote for Marshall, we must do it.
