HitsDailyDouble presented the list of the best performing albums of the year to date, ranking two Marshall’s compilations in the Top 50.
Few people managed to place more than one project on the ranking firmly, and most of them are rappers. Overall, there are eight acts with two or more albums listed: The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Juice WRLD, Post Malone, Drake, Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, and Eminem.
His most recent release, the compilation sequel “Curtain Call 2”, has sold 653,000 units in five months since its release, which put the project at No.28. His first greatest hits compilation “Curtain Call: The Hits” has moved 539,000 units since the beginning of the year and is ranked 48 on the list.
Last week “Curtain Call: The Hits” celebrated a milestone of 600 weeks charting on the Billboard 200, longer than any hip hop project in history. No wonder this confident performance translates into end-of-the-year charts, even if they are built on a different methodology.
There is still time to boost “Curtain Call 2” numbers before the year ends.
