Eminem Urges Detroit to Vote as He Introduces Obama at Harris Rally

Eminem lent his star power to Kamala Harris’ campaign, but some wild internet claims have sparked debates about whether he got paid for the gig.

Eminem, known for his no-nonsense attitude and legendary rap skills, turned many heads during Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign with his involvement in her Detroit rally. Alongside artists like Lady Gaga, Megan Thee Stallion, and Bruce Springsteen, the Detroit rapper showed up to lend his voice to the cause and urge the people of Detroit to vote. But after Harris’ loss, rumours started spreading, claiming artists were paid millions for their support — from $10 million for Beyoncé to $1.8 million for Slim Shady himself.

The Harris campaign was quick to set the record straight. Adrienne Elrod, a senior advisor, firmly denied the claims, stating, “We do not pay. We have never paid any artist and performer”. Instead, any costs covered were strictly for travel or production, ensuring everything complied with campaign finance laws. “There are laws that have to be followed that we have followed religiously on this campaign”, she said to Deadline.

As for Eminem? True to form, he’s stayed silent on the matter, likely unbothered by the chatter. Meanwhile, Cardi B, another Harris supporter, shut down the rumours in classic fiery fashion, responding to far-right commentator Candace Owens’ inquiry on X (formerly Twitter):

I didn’t get paid a dollar, and that’s on my three!! I actually came out of pocket for glam and travel because it’s somewhere I wanted to be. Like please, girl, you know damn well I’ll argue you down about politics FOR FREE

While the internet loves a juicy rumour, it seems Eminem’s involvement was all about supporting a cause — not chasing a payday. Leave it to Marshall to let his actions and his lyrics speak louder than the noise.
