Dr. Dre and Eminem 1999

The iconic collaboration “Forgot About Dre” has officially reached an 800 million streams milestone on Spotify.

It marks Dre’s third song as lead artist and Eminem’s 15th feature to hit this threshold. The track is still gaining over 450,000 streams every single day.

Released in 1999 as the second single from Dre’s legendary “2001” album, “Forgot About Dre” became an instant classic. Eminem’s scorching wordplay on Dre’s signature West Coast production is pure fire. It’s no wonder that Rolling Stone and The Guardian later crowned it as one of Em’s greatest tracks.

The song’s impact goes beyond streams and accolades. It served as a powerful reminder of Dre’s undeniable influence and introduced the world to the raw energy of a young Slim Shady, forever changing the rap game.

While “Forgot About Dre” holds a 2x Platinum certification in the UK, it surprisingly lacks RIAA certification in the US. Hopefully, the streaming success will translate into official recognition sooner rather than later.
