The internet is buzzing after discovering that an Internet user seemingly predicted the title of his upcoming album two and a half years ago.

On Thursday, the internet went wild with Eminem’s surprise announcement of “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)”, dropping this summer. But amidst the frenzy, one fan’s X (formerly Twitter) post resurfaced, leaving everyone speechless.

Back in October 2021, user @thoughtfulbae posted a detailed concept for Eminem’s next project – “The Death of Slim Shady”. The post outlined a farewell to the iconic Slim Shady persona, with Eminem reflecting on his controversies and the impact (both positive and negative) on his life.

The prediction didn’t stop there. The fan envisioned a shift in Eminem’s style, with a “more laid-back lyricism” focusing on lyrical depth over delivery and production by legends like The Alchemist and DJ Premier (instead of the usual Dr. Dre).

While the Dr. Dre prediction seems off (Dre announced involvement with the album, and 50 Cent confirmed at it, too), the fan nailed the core concept. Eminem has toyed with killing off Slim Shady before, notably in “When I’m Gone” and his book “The Way I Am”, where he explained the concept of the song:

“I liked having Slim Shady around, but he’d become so famous that it had damn near destroyed [me]. SO I KILLED OFF SLIM SHADY”.

Well, that explains why Eminem is now being chased as a “wanted” suspect all over Spotify.

Anyway, the fan did pick up on Eminem’s recent shift towards a more relaxed rapping style, potentially aligning with the prediction. It does seem that on recent features, Eminem slowed his flow down a little bit and focused on delivering his lines with military precision and the pace that even mumble rap fans can follow.

A close call for this Shady detective! They deserve major props for getting the title right and capturing the general theme of the album. While some details differ, this prediction shows the influence and the impact Slim Shady has had on fans. It is also funny to see multiple comments under the original post that laugh the concept off and label it as “corny”. Now, all that’s left is to wait and see what “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” truly holds.
