Eminem’s childhood home, featured on the cover of his “The Marshall Mathers LP,” is available for purchase.
Eminem’s childhood home is for sale. The house, which was featured on one of the two covers of his 2000 album, The Marshall Mathers LP, is available for purchase on the Michigan Land Bank website, as per mlive.com.
The Land Bank website doesn’t appear to ask for a minimum bid on the property at 19946 Dresden Street, whose parcel number is 21034756, though the site says that a $35 processing fee is assessed if an offer is accepted, according to mlive.com.
Real estate website Zillow estimates the house to be worth $33,000, though mlive says that that value is likely high because the property is surrounded by abandoned and blighted homes.
A man who lives on Dresden told mlive.com Monday (September 16) that the neighborhood has been victimized by drug and gang activity for several years.
Land Bank has been in possession of the property since October 5, 2012, according to property records obtained by MLive Detroit, the site says.
Eminem’s mother was listed as the owner of the property from March 1992 until April 2003, as per mlive.com.
Eminem spent most of his teenage years in the house.
Eminem premiered his new single, “Berzerk,” August 26. The song is available for stream here and is the first single from his forthcoming The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which is scheduled for a November 5 release.
