The talented emcee made a stop on Zane Lowe’s show on Beats 1 yesterday to debut his new single ‘I Love’ (listen here). During the interview, he spoke a little bit about the project and made it clear that it’s not his official album. He also revealed that Eminem will be featured a song, following up on their ‘Lucky You‘ collaboration.
“Eminem has been someone that I’ve always considered the greatest ever, to ever do it. You know what I mean? In every aspect, the storytelling abilities, lyrical ability, honesty,” he said. “You can hear it in my music that I’m heavily influenced by that. To have the opportunity — let alone be on a record with him — but also pretty much lead the record, and then lead the video and be in the video. A lot of people who record and made records with Eminem never got a video.”
“Even me being in the video and doing a video with him and kind of having that relationship with him and building with him. He’s a really good person, man. He’s a really good guy. We’ve had some dope, deep conversations. Eminem is definitely on ADHD. We have another record coming out and it’s more into my … we’re into Joyner Lucas territory, storytelling territory. That’s what me and Eminem, we both do best. He created one of the best records ever in life, which was “Stan.” I’m heavily inspired by that record, too.” Watch him speak on the upcoming collab below.
