The Hollywood Walk of Fame is set to welcome a fresh batch of entertainment professionals as the Walk of Fame Selection Panel, under the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, announces its latest honorees.

This esteemed group, hailing from various realms of the entertainment industry, including Motion Pictures, Television, Live Theatre/Live Performance, Radio, Recording, and Sports Entertainment, has been carefully selected from a pool of hundreds of deserving nominations.

Chair and Walk of Famer Ellen K announced the decision on a live streamed press conference saying:

The Selection Committee, comprising esteemed Walk of Famers, painstakingly hand-picks a cohort of honorees every year, representing diverse genres within the entertainment world. The Committee has done an exceptional job in choosing these highly talented individuals. We eagerly await the reactions of each honoree as they realize their indelible mark on Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most renowned walkway!

Among the notable recipients in the Recording category are Toni Braxton, Def Leppard, Sammy Hagar, Gwen Stefani, and Andre “Dr. Dre” Young. Their contributions to the field of music will soon be recognised with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

While specific dates for the star ceremonies have not yet been scheduled, recipients have a two-year window to plan their ceremonies from the date of selection before expiration. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce traditionally announces upcoming star ceremonies on its official website, www.walkoffame.com, just ten days prior to the dedication.

It might seems weird that Dr. Dre is getting his star that late, considering his immense influence and popularity. Even 50 Cent got his star faster. But most probably, Dr. Dre just didn’t want it. And nobody is getting included on the honoree list without expressing their desire to be there first. Because a Walk of Fame star is not just a sign of recognition but also over $15,000 payment for the initial installation and then monthly fees for maintenance.

Anyway, if the Good Doctor wants one — he gets one. And then we, probably, get to see Eminem at the opening ceremony.
