Eminem Took Shooter’s Point Of View To Protest Against Gun Violence on “Darkness”

Marshall is known to be in favour of stricter gun control for years. He has lost enough friend to gun violence to know that its deadly power took away too many lives in the United States.

Eminem reflects on that issue taking an unexpected perspective. He tells the story of a 2017 shooting that took place at a live performance in Las Vegas. The sombre quote from Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound Of Silence” goes as a melancholic main theme through a story of a man crushed with depression, who instead of seeking help inflicts death.

The reel of news clips about mass shootings in the US makes Eminem’s point clear – these deaths are not accidental, this is a systemic issue.
