The Relapse era keeps giving: Eminem’s 2009 smash hit “Crack a Bottle” has just gone platinum in the UK.

The track featuring Dr. Dre and 50 Cent was originally released in 2009 as the lead single from “Relapse”, Eminem’s long-awaited comeback album after a five-year hiatus.

Upon release, “Crack a Bottle” broke digital records, racking up 418,000 downloads in its first week and dethroning the previous holder, “Live Your Life” by T.I. and Rihanna. It later won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group in 2010.

While the song saw most of its commercial success in the United States (where it is now certified 3× Platinum), the UK has slowly been catching up. This new certification marks the first platinum award for “Crack a Bottle” in Britain — a fitting way to celebrate the Relapse anniversary and another reminder of the track’s unfading pull.
