Long before starring in blockbuster films, Chris Pratt was writing and recording rap songs — while also memorising Eminem’s fastest verses.
Chris Pratt surprised fans by flaunting his rap skills during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While promoting his upcoming Netflix film “The Electric State” (out March 14), the actor took a trip down memory lane — straight to his Eminem-inspired rap days.
Kimmel brought up a viral clip of Pratt flawlessly rapping Eminem’s verse from Dr. Dre’s “Forgot About Dre”, which resurfaced in 2014.
Pratt then shared the backstory of how he mastered Slim Shady’s flow:
I spent two years, living in a van smoking weed, listening to Eminem between 18 and 20, before I found Jesus. Other kids were learning biology in college, I don’t know, I was learning how to rap.
But Pratt’s rap obsession did not stop there — he even revealed that in his early 20s, while filming “Everwood”, he wrote and recorded his own rap songs. Though he eventually traded in bars for blockbuster roles, it seems Slim Shady’s influence did not completely leave him.
