Baltimore Orioles left-hander Cade Povich is letting fans have a say in his big moment. After securing a spot in the team’s starting rotation, Povich was named the pitcher for the Orioles’ home opener against the Boston Red Sox. But before he takes the mound, he needs to settle on one important detail — his walk-out song.

Instead of picking one himself, Povich turned to fans, posting a poll on X with two choices: Billy Joel’s “Piano Man” or Eminem’s “The Real Slim Shady”. While Piano Man had its moment as his entrance song last season, “The Real Slim Shady” plays off his nickname, “Slim”.

In the end, Eminem’s classic won with 57.6% of the 6,552 votes, meaning Oriole Park will be rocking to “The Real Slim Shady” as Povich takes the field. The song, released in April 2000, dropped when Povich was just a week old — now, almost 25 years later, it is the soundtrack to his first home opener start.
