Marshall used his Twitter account to shout out to the rapper who influenced his and the entire hip hop game.

Eminem tweeted:

Happy b day 2 @triggertreach 1 of the greatest rappers of all time!!..I’m still tryin 2 catch up 2 the greatness of the last vs on “Craziest”!!!

This s not the first time Marshall expresses his appreciation to this Naughty By Nature MC. During the conversation with KXNG Crooked, Em admitted that he almost gave up rapping when he thought that he would never achieve the heights of Treach’s skills:

Treach, I don’t see on a lot of lists, either. And that shit is infuriating to me, because I think that, again, when you’re talking about, like, Rakim did something that’d never been done, and Kane did something, then G Rap did something that’d never been done. I think what happened with Treach, and this is just in my circle of friends that we talk about shit, one of the common things said is, “Well, he did ‘O.P.P.’ and he did ‘Hip Hop Hooray’”. But he was still rhyming his ass off on those songs, but he also did something to me, in my opinion. There was a time period, probably between ’91 and about ’95 where damn near every rapper in the game was following him and trying to do what he was doing. Dressing like him, you know what I’m saying? The whole shit, moving like him. And he was getting on fucking songs and smoking everybody, and it was like, “Yo!” When I heard “Yoke the Joke”, and my fucking heart sank. My heart sank, because I was like, “I’m never gonna be this good. I might as well quit”, I didn’t write a rhyme for the entire summer, I said this on the Ice T documentary. But this is real shit, I didn’t write for an entire summer, and Proof was like, “Yo, man, he’s good, but you gotta keep”. And I was just like, “But I’ll never be that good”. By the time it got to “Wickedest Man Alive”, I was like, “I quit. I don’t want to do this anymore”.

Luckily for everyone Em persevered and now Treach himself praises him. Talking to Fat Joe the other week, Treach showed his love to Marshall:

That’s my light-skinned twin! We kick it back and forth, Eminem for his birthday, my birthday we be kicking in it… It’s mutual respect. He’s one of the dopest of all times, hands down. And it’s showing how the culture is so great, it expands, it brings everybody together, all races. Hip hop brings everybody together. Different art forms of all, whether it’s dance, hip hop graffiti… It’s all types of men, it’s a lovely thing. So that’s my bro, I love Em. And it’s like me, anytime you ask me about hip hop I can’t go without naming all those who came before me because I’m a product of all of them together.

All this love should result in a collaboration one day. Although, technically they both have appeared on the credits to the same song. Treach is listed as a writer on Eminem’s “Berzerk”, the track that interpolates “Feel Me Flow” by Naughty By Nature:
