An updated design of Eminem’s classic Air Jordan 4 “Encore” is expected to go on sale next year. The original was made for Eminem’s friends and family only.
A small 50-pair run in the now-familiar blue-and-red design tied to the release of Encore was produced exclusively for Eminem’s inner circle in 2005. Later in 2017, 23 more pairs were produced to mark the Revival release; one of those was sold for charity. Since then, these sneakers have become one of the ultimate collectors’ grails, increasing in price every year because of their exceptional rarity.
Now, according to Sneaker Files, Nike is reportedly planning a retail release of a modified version of the design.
The main difference lies in the colour scheme – Varsity Red will change to Game Purple, bringing the colourway to Blue Ribbon / Game Purple / Stealth Black.
No real leaked images or detailed design descriptions have surfaced yet. It is not even clear whether the heel will feature Jumpman branding or Nike Air. The images shared by @zSneakerHeadz are mock-ups, not official promo photos.
What the reports do provide are the expected release details: May 15, 2027, style code JJ3098-400, and a retail price of $230.
Also, Sneaker Files reports that while the run will be limited, it is still set to release via Nike’s official SNKRS and select boutiques.
Essentially, Jordan Brand has yet to confirm the upcoming “Encore” Air Jordan 4 retro. However, eager collectors will welcome any updates.
What makes the rumour even more interesting is the history behind the shoe.
Both previous “Encore” runs were tied to Eminem album eras: the original 2005 pair marked Encore, while the 2017 revival arrived with Revival. Could this rumoured 2027 drop be an early hint that there will be something else to celebrate next May? Isn’t time for a new album era?
