The shots Awards The Americas features the “From the D 2 the LBC” video in the 2D Animation category.
The award focuses on the Americas region, meaning that creators from both the north and south continents are eligible for participation. The entry is paid but accessible, so the range of works submitted for consideration is wide and represents very different approaches, techniques and genres.
The category to which “From the D 2 the LBC” is shortlisted “looks at 2D animation in all of its forms, from fun flip-books to intricate watercolour passion projects. The work can be entirely animated or use animation to augment filmed footage”, says the award’s official website.
The majority of runner-ups and former winners are big corporations’ commercials though. It is still interesting to see how the augmented video directed by James Larese will hold against its counterparts.
The results will be announced at the award ceremony on 4 May 2023 at NeueHouse Hollywood, Los Angeles.
