Eminem’s Hitman crossover hides more than one ending, and some of them are wonderfully unhinged.
Depending on your point of view, you can describe The Eminem vs. Slim Shady Elusive Target as a fever dream, a playful meta-puzzle, and a love letter to fans. Yet once you dive in, you realise: there is no single “right” way to finish this mission. IO Interactive built it like an echo chamber: each ending is a different reflection of Slim Shady’s mythology.
The Mirror Ending: The Canonical Cut
The “poetic ending”, as some players call it, uses mirrors in a way that ties directly back to The Death of Slim Shady philosophy. You send Slim Shady crashing through the glass and into the hands of his creator, present-day Eminem, in a final scene that makes more sense in the Eminem lore than in the Hitman universe.
It is symbolic, strange, self-referential, and oddly beautiful.
Other Ways to Fulfil the Contract
Because Hitman is Hitman, you can take out the target in far messier, funnier, or more brutal ways. However, there are only five unique ways to get the job done, specific only to this mission. Besides the Mirror ending, you can:
– Poison Mom’s Spaghetti sandwich and then jump on heaving Shady.
– Overload the microphone and electrocute Shady.
– Mess with the chemical set so it explodes during Shady’s demonstration.
– Tamper with Mr. Chainsaw Jr., making it explode when Shady is around.
And fans love it.
We Recorded the Endings for You
Since the mission only runs through December, we captured the alternate endings so you don’t miss anything.
You’ll also find the full briefing video, with Eminem himself introducing the contract alongside Diana Burnwood. This scene sets the tone for the mission and also offers a handful of clues and nudges that help you understand the meaning of the story beyond the hunt.
This DLC presented us with a dream in Eminem’s head, stitched together from lore, humour, and decades of references. Each ending plays like a different version of that dream: sometimes goofy, sometimes dark, always very Slim Shady.
