With six nominations, Eminem has a real shot at becoming the most-awarded male artist in MTV VMA history.
Currently tied with Peter Gabriel at 13 wins each, Eminem has six new nominations to win. And even one would be enough to break the tie and make him the most celebrated male artist at MTV VMAs. Taylor Swift is fighting for the same accolade against Beyonce, who has 27 MTV VMA Awards on her shelf.
Marshall has a good chance to claim the title this year, as his groundbreaking music video “Houdini” is up for five awards. He is also nominated for Artist of the Year for the first time in his career (the category was introduced in 2017).
Eminem is the only hip hop artist nominated for both Artist of the Year and Video of the Year and the only male in the Video of the Year category. With Nicki Minaj not competing in the Best Hip Hop category this year, Eminem has a solid chance to add another win to his tally.
