The comedy trio is riding a wave of renewed momentum, and they have set their sights on their next dream collaborator: none other than Eminem.

The Lonely Island, the comedy-music trio led by Andy Samberg, has been making fans laugh (and dance) again with recent releases like “Sushi Glory Hole” and the Charli XCX-assisted “Here I Go”. Known for their star-studded collaborations with names like Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Akon, Lady Gaga, and more, the group is no stranger to big-name features.

But their success is far from a joke. The Lonely Island holds several Platinum records and boasts an impressive list of award nominations. Their 2009 smash hit “I’m On a Boat”, featuring T-Pain, went double Platinum and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Even tracks that were not official singles left a mark — “Like a Boss” sold nearly 250,000 units in 2009, earning a Gold certification and helping make “Incredibad” the year’s eighth bestselling hip hop album.

On a recent episode of The Lonely Island And Seth Meyers Podcast, Jorma Taccone revealed that the group’s dream collaborator is none other than Eminem, a sentiment Andy Samberg enthusiastically shared. Samberg also brought up another dream project: getting former President Bill Clinton to shred on saxophone for a track. “He’s no longer president, so he might have some free time”, he joked.

Whether it’s a collab with Slim Shady or the 42nd president, fans seem to be still eager to see what The Lonely Island cooks up next.
