Marshall’s new single, “Tobey”, landed the highest debut on the Spotify song chart.

The song has entered the ranking at No.104 with 1.6 million streams.

Yes, it is way less than “Houdini” gained on the release day, but “Tobey” was dropped at midday in midweek, so the counting was doomed from the beginning. However, in the long run, the accumulated streams can show a strong performance in the second week.

Also, if “Houdini” was throwing back to funny goofing Slim Shady loved by the general public, then “Tobey” is a straight solid hip hop track showing three generations of Detroit lyricists that might seem to be too hardcore for the average demographic. But it is a win for the culture nevertheless.
