The Songwriters Hall of Fame has revealed its 2025 inductees, set to join the prestigious ranks at this year’s Induction and Awards Gala.

Among them are rock legends The Doobie Brothers, funk pioneer George Clinton, country hitmaker Ashley Gorley, The Beach Boys’ Mike Love, powerhouse producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, and ’60s hitmaker Tony Macaulay.

Despite being nominated, Eminem did not make the cut this time around, losing out to the impressive list of inductees. However, his growing catalogue of timeless tracks and continued success keep him well-positioned for future consideration.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame, established in 1969, honours the trailblazers of music while inspiring new generations of songwriters. To be eligible, a songwriter must have a notable catalogue and wait 20 years after their first commercial release. While some of Eminem’s classics already meet the mark, much of his catalogue and ongoing career suggests there is still plenty more to come.

Here is hoping we see Slim Shady’s name on that list in the near future.
