One of the strongest young MCs in the game pays respect to rappers who defined her as an artist.
The question about her rap DNA Snow Tha Product said to Hard Knock TV:
Definitely some Em, definitely some Selena, definitely miss Lauren Hill. Discovering her shifted a lot. I could have rapped about anything, I could have talked about anything. I’m pretty creative so I could have said anything and hearing a woman tell you to value yourself and everything like that definitely struck a chord with me and it made me feel out of the spectrum that you can be as an artist. Obviously, some of my angry raps too because of Em.
Also, Eminem was one of the first rappers who opened the world of hip hop for her. Snow Tha Product remembers how she started listening to rap music:
My homegirl let me have some CDs because I couldn’t afford it and she just gave me a Big Pun CD, an Eminem CD, Lauren Hill, Lil Kim and Outcast… The best thing anybody could have done. That’s all I had, so I would just keep playing and keep playing it on loop. And if you think about those names and those things at that time that was the greatest music to put to make an artist. That was the ingredients.
