Cowboys Rookie Reveals How Eminem Fuelled His NFL Debut

Shavon Revel Jr. waited more than a year for his NFL debut. He fought through a torn ACL, months of rehab, long days, quiet doubts, and louder expectations. So when he finally stepped onto the field in Las Vegas, he needed something powerful to set the tone.

That “something” was Eminem.

Revel walked out to “Till I Collapse”, the ultimate pump-up anthem, reported sports journalist Nick Harris. And according to the rookie cornerback, it changed everything for him. “It felt great, man… I know what I can do”, he said after the game.

“The Butterflies Stayed in the Locker Room”

Revel admitted the nerves were real at first. But music helped flip the switch. “I listened to some music that gets you bumping, gets you focused”, he said. The song, as we already know, was Eminem’s “Till I Collapse”.

It was his first football game in 429 days, yet he showed no hesitation on the field. Revel played 17 snaps and made his first NFL tackle – a moment he welcomed with open arms.

“It felt great. I needed that. It either took me getting hit or me hitting somebody to say, okay… it’s time to lock in”, said the young athlete.

Even so, he was quick to note the lesson every rookie learns fast: the NFL moves at a different speed. “It’s very fast… I haven’t been out there in a year, so I’m just dialling in on the details”.

The Power of “Till I Collapse”

The Cowboys rookie is far from alone. Athletes across every sport use the song as a mental trigger, a way to step into the moment with focus and fire. Exactly what many fans feel when they hit play on “Till I Collapse”, everybody’s favourite workout track.

And that’s why Revel’s story fits perfectly into the song’s legacy. “Till I Collapse” remains the undefeated hype anthem, the track players rely on when they need strength, clarity, and total commitment.

Revel made his NFL debut with the same energy that has carried countless athletes, fighters, and competitors for more than 20 years.

And for one night in Vegas, Slim Shady helped another player rise to the moment.
