Legendary Shaquille O’Neal formed a whole basketball team out of his favourite rappers and Eminem is there playing a shooting guard.
When asked by Fat Joe about his top 5 rappers dead or alive Shaquille refused to rank them but assigned them to field positions and it makes so much more sense.
Answering the question, Shaquille said:
I don’t wanna do that because I’m friends with all you guys and these days when stuff comes out people take it a little personal. I don’t want it to be personal. I love all y’all so I don’t wanna rank it. But since you asked this question… At the point guard, you’ve got Lil Weezy. At the shooting guard, I’ve got Em. At the small forward I got Jay-Z. At the four I got Pac. And I got Big at the five.
What a dream team. Let’s look at this list closer:
Lil Wayne — point guard. Runs the team’s offence by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, Steph Curry.
Eminem — shooting guard. Scores points for their team and steals the ball on defence. Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade.
Jay-Z — small forward. Versatile players responsible for scoring points and defending. Julius Erving, Larry Bird, James Worthy.
2Pac — the four. The power forward plays offensively with their backs towards the basket and position themselves defensively under the basket in a zone defence or against the opposing power forward in man-to-man defence. Karl Malone, Tim Duncan, Anthony Davis.
Notorious B.I.G. — the five. The centre, also known as the big man, is usually the biggest player on the team and valued for their ability to protect their own goal while scoring with high efficiency. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dwight Howard and Shaquille O’Neal himself.
