Several years ago, Detroit rapper Sada Baby went viral after making disrespectful comments about Eminem. Now, he is calling Em the best rapper ever. You do not have to love Eminem to understand how good he is.
Not his favourite, still the best
Hip hop media Mile High Minute caught up with Sada Baby for a short conversation, and one of the questions was whether Sada would work with Eminem if given the chance.
The rapper was realistic and thoughtful in his response. “It ain’t that I’d work with him. Who in their right mind wouldn’t? Would Eminem work with me? Probably not”, Sada admitted.
He referred to the comment that made headlines several years back. “All the shit that went viral when I was saying that he wasn’t my favourite rapper from Detroit, and a lot of people from Detroit wouldn’t say he’s their favourite rapper. But what the fuck does it matter? He’s Marshall Mathers; he’s the best rapper ever. Ever!”
Sada is also sure that his old comments meant more online than they ever did to Eminem. “He might have seen what I said; he might have not. But guess what, if he didn’t see it, I bet his day would’ve kept on going. And if he did see it, I bet his day would’ve kept on going”, Sada Baby concluded.

Five years later
The media shared a clip from Sada’s interview with a caption: “Sada Baby says you can respect Eminem’s legacy without calling him your personal favorite”. That’s hard to argue with. However, five years ago people were shocked not because Sada Baby did not include Eminem in his personal favourites, but because of the sheer disrespect he showed to Marshall.
Nobody knows to this day what compelled Sada to go online and share a revelation: “You know I’m heminem. Not Eminem, heminem. But I got love for Royce Da 5’9″; I love Royce. His homeboy is just weird. I love Trick Trick; his homeboy’s just weird. Rest in peace, Proof; he died just two blocks from my grandma’s house; his homeboy is weird”.
One way or another, five years later Sada Baby knows better. Indeed, nobody expects a love confession from him. But hearing him acknowledge Eminem’s skill and impact is still satisfying.
