Royce da 5’9” released visuals for his single “Overcomer” recorded in collaboration with Westside Gunn.
Record produced by Royce himself bears unmistakable signs of Westside involvement. That’s not only his recognisable voice and signature “Boom-boom”, that’s also his minimalistic approach to a music canvas. Royce remembers how unconvinced he was with this attitude initially:
I was like “You like this?” I’m playing it, and he like “Loop it just like that”. I was like “It’s only two bars, it’s not enough”. He was like “Yes it is!” I was like are you sure? He was like “My nigga, this is beautiful, I’ll play this shit at my wedding”.
