Over a decade after its release, Nicki Minaj and Eminem’s joint track surpassed two million sales stateside.

That number, reported by ChartData, puts the track in double platinum territory and raises the question of whether an updated RIAA certification is on the way.

The song appears on Minaj’s 2010 debut album Pink Friday, where she raps as her wild alter ego Roman Zolanski in response to her ongoing beef. Eminem, who has his own history of alter egos, steps in as Slim Shady to trade verses with her. Produced by Swizz Beatz, the track first arrived on iTunes on October 30, 2010, as a pre-release promo cut.

Minaj revealed Eminem’s involvement just two days before the song dropped, telling MTV News she had long hoped for a collaboration. She recalled sending him an early track that didn’t quite land, but instead of brushing it off, Em asked her for something that felt “a little more me”. That request led to “Roman’s Revenge”, now a fan-favourite milestone in both artists’ catalogues.

So far, the track has only one official certification: a Gold from ARIA in Australia. However, with sales now well past 2 million in the US, it appears due for some RIAA recognition.
