The first video from “The Marshall Mathers LP” has reached the milestone of 900 million views on YouTube.
Released in 2000 and directed by both Philip G. Atwell and Dr. Dre, the work has become one of the most recognisable Em’s visuals. It was uploaded on Marshall’s official YouTube channel in 2010.
“The Real Slim Shady” was very successful at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, winning awards for Video of the Year and Best Male Video, as well as being a nominee for Best Rap Video, Best Direction, Best Editing and Viewer’s Choice.
While its popularity has always been high, recently, it has found even more appreciation. The video gained over 100 million views in 2023 alone. It met an 800 million views milestone in March.
Overall, it is Em’s eighth most streamed music video on the platform.
