Scheduled initially on June, 12, Pop Smoke’s posthumous album will be released almost a month later.

50 Cent, who undertook a task to assemble and executively produce an album after the tragic death of young rapper pop Smoke, posted the announcement on Twitter with some visuals.

The resemblance Fif pointed out might be something that led him to get involved in the project in the first place. A rapper turned media mogul felt that he had something in common with a talented Pop Smoke whose life was cut short by a bullet. So Fifty committed to preserving New York Mc’s legacy and called for names like Drake and Roddy Rich to participate. We will learn who responded to this call on July, 3.

Steven Victor, the head of Pop Smoke’s label, cited the current political situation as a reason for the delay: “Given recent events, we have decided to delay the release of his album out of respect for the movement”.

Meanwhile, the first single is released. “Make It Rain” features Rowdy Rebel, who rapped his verse on a phone call from prison.
