50 Cent is focused more on his TV executive career than on making music now, so every new tune from him is a treat. Posthumous collaboration with Pop Smoke that features Roddy Ricch is a bittersweet delight that will never be reproduced.

Fif was shaken by Pop Smoke’s murder and wanted to preserve his legacy and help his solo debut to be released. He personally sought for Roddy Ricch to get him involved in the production. The result, “The Woo” is one of 19 tracks on Pop Smoke’s posthumous album.

It is not just 50 cent rapping a verse on a track, Pop Smoke refers to Fifty’s “Candy Shop” on that exact song. And this is not the only example of Fifty’s influence on a young rapper. On “Get It On Me” he interpolates Fif’s “Many Men (Have Mercy)” released in 2003.

Not without controversy, in this case linked to unfortunate cover design, Pop Smoke’s debut album “Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon” dropped today, Friday, July 3rd.
