MMLP 20th Anniversary: Chat With Eminem Fans

Eminem’s catalogue continues to defy time, trends, and generations. This week brought a fresh wave of international certifications, as his classic tracks capture new listeners every single day.

And from Europe to Oceania, the numbers tell a powerful story.

“Curtain Call” Scores Big in Europe

“Curtain Call: The Hits” remains one of the most successful rap compilations ever released. Now it adds two more milestones.

Italy: Double Platinum

FIMI confirmed that Curtain Call: The Hits is officially 2× Platinum in Italy.
The award reflects over 100,000 units in the country and shows the album’s staying power. But what else would you expect from a collection jam-packed with bangers?

Germany: Triple Platinum

Meanwhile, BVMI announced a 3× Platinum certification for the same album.
In Germany, this represents over 600,000 units, making it one of the strongest hip hop catalogue performers in the region.

Released in 2005, the compilation brought together a decade of hits: “Lose Yourself”, “The Real Slim Shady”, “Without Me”, “Stan”, and more.
Since then, it has become a global chart fixture, spending over 750 weeks on the Billboard 200 and reappearing on charts across Europe every year.

New Zealand Shows Love

New Zealand also delivered two major updates:
“Hailie’s Song” – 1× Platinum
“Without Me” – 8× Platinum

“Hailie’s Song,” released on The Eminem Show in 2002, remains one of Eminem’s most personal tracks. Its Platinum certification represents over 30,000 units, a rare achievement for a non-single.

Meanwhile, “Without Me”, released as the lead single for the same album, confirms its staying power. In New Zealand, its 8× Platinum status equals over 240,000 units.
The track also has over 2.85 billion Spotify streams, placing it among the most streamed songs ever from the 2000s and the most streamed from 2002.

UK Certifies Another Classic

This week also brought a major UK update:

“Forgot About Dre” – 3× Platinum

The Dr. Dre and Eminem anthem now stands at 1.8 million units in the UK alone.

Released in 1999, “Forgot About Dre” became a defining moment in Dre’s comeback narrative.
And for Eminem, to put his pen on this epic track of a hip hop giant was a way to confirm the versatility of his lyrical skills.

Later, the song won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

Numbers tell the story

Some might think we are obsessing over numbers that don’t matter much. However, there is more to it than counting streams just for the sake of it. Eminem’s older material is charting like new releases. And these updates show that his 2000s hits are connecting with younger streaming audiences, and his catalogue tracks are streaming at levels most artists never reach. And most importantly, they show that his global fanbase remains active and expanding.
