Denaun says Eminem’s pen never stops moving, but it’s Royce 5’9 who floors him with verses that seem to appear out of thin air.

Denaun, aka Mr. Porter, has worked with some of the biggest names in hip hop, but when asked who tops his list of talent, the answer came easy. In a new interview on Intellectually Petty Radio, the veteran producer praised Eminem as “the most talented writer I’ve ever seen” and called Royce 5’9 the most gifted rapper he has worked with.

“This man writes 24/7”, Denaun said about Em. “I’ve never seen an artist write as much as him. The way he takes the English language and brutalises it. He utilises it, but he’s brutal. I’ve never seen anybody that dedicated and more talented as a writer”.

He recalled their early sessions together: “When we started, the first thing I said was ‘Bro, I know you saying some fresh shit ‘cause I rap, but slow down’. And when he slowed down, we did “Infinite”. Then we slowed it a little more, and it turned into Slim Shady”.

As far as singers go, he gave props to Flint’s Latonya “Tone Treazure” Givens, who has appeared on tracks by Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Kurupt, Rick Ross, D12, and more. “She’s one of the most effortless, most incredible singers I’ve heard in my life, like Nina Simone”, he said.

And when it comes to rappers? “Royce. I don’t even understand how he says the shit he says, and he doesn’t have the lines written down. It comes out of nowhere by the time he gets to putting the song together”.

While many fans know Denaun as Eminem’s hype man on stage, he is also a heavyweight behind the scenes, producing for 50 Cent, Jadakiss, Method Man, Snoop Dogg, and more. Still, when it comes to next-level artistry, he tends to highlight the circle he came up with in Detroit. Not because they are close but because the talent is what brought them together.
