With over 3 billion views, “Love The Way You Lie” continues to be the most viewed rap song in the platform’s history.
Almost 15 years after its premiere on MTV on August 5, 2010, “Love The Way You Lie” is still racking up numbers. The powerful collab between Eminem and Rihanna has officially crossed 3 billion views on YouTube, putting it among the most watched videos on the platform, ever.
Currently sitting at No. 52 on YouTube’s all-time most viewed list (which includes everything from animated sharks to bedtime lullabies), the video climbs to No. 33 when you filter for music aimed at adults. What is even more important, “Love The Way You Lie” remains the most viewed rap song in YouTube history. Nothing else in the genre comes close.
Directed by Joseph Kahn and featuring Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan as a volatile couple, the video matched the emotional punch of the lyrics. Rihanna’s haunting chorus and Eminem’s raw verses struck a nerve with millions, and clearly still do. Does it matter what brings people back — nostalgia, the message, or the sheer chemistry between Em and RiRi? But people do come back and still listen, 14 years after its release. The song gets about 500,000 views every day.
