The legendary single “Lose Yourself” continues to break records two decades after its release, earning 8× Platinum certification in New Zealand for 240,000 units sold. Originally released on October 28, 2002, as the lead single from the “8 Mile” soundtrack, the track became Eminem’s first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, holding the top spot for 12 consecutive weeks.
“Lose Yourself” made history as the first hip hop song to win an Academy Award for Best Original Song. It also earned two Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Solo Performance.
The song’s accolades extend far beyond New Zealand. Globally, it has received remarkable certifications, including 20× Platinum in Australia (1.4 million units), 13× Platinum in the United States (13 million units), and 5× Platinum in the United Kingdom (3 million units).
