Lil Wayne shows some serious respect for Slim Shady in a recent interview.

Appearing on Cam Heyward’s podcast, Not Just Football, Wayne got grilled on his all-time rap royalty picks.

After jokingly listing his own alter egos (“Lil Wayne, Weezy Baby, Tunechi”), Weezy got down to business. He rattled off a list of hip hop veterans – JAY-Z, Missy Elliott, and The Notorious B.I.G. – and the rap god himself before adding Drake to the count:

Top 5 rappers of all time, this is easy. Lil Wayne, Weezy Baby, Tunechi. Nah, I’m shitting. My top 5 for real are JAY-Z, Missy Elliott, Eminem, The Notorious B.I.G. Oh, and this is no specific order right here. And Drizzy.

The shout-out to Eminem shouldn’t come as a surprise. These two lyrical giants have a history of trading bars, dropping fire on tracks like “No Love” and “Drop the World”. Plus, they joined forces with Drake and Kanye on the legendary posse cut “Forever”.

This mutual respect goes both ways. Eminem himself has acknowledged Wayne’s undeniable talent. It’s always a win when rap titans recognize the skills of their peers. Shout out to Weezy for keeping it real and putting Em in the GOAT conversation.
