British singer and songwriter of Georgian decent, Katie Melua is one of the most successful British and European female artists. Who really, really liked Eminem growing up.
Talking to The Guardian about her musical taste and songs she loves or hates, Katie mentioned “Stan” when asked what song she knows by heart:
I thought I knew all the lyrics to Stan by Eminem, but yesterday, I put it on, and they’ve gone away. I definitely knew all the lyrics to the Marshall Mathers LP when I was 15, but I haven’t retained them.
Not only this answer reveals Katie’s teenage obsession with Marshall’s music, but also shows that she casually puts his album on now and again. The newspaper even used this fact to put in the lead: “The singer used to know Eminem word for word”.
