Last night, Eminem made history at the Formula 1 US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, by bringing back his iconic Jason mask on stage for the first time in 24 years.

Both the mask and the chainsaw made an appearance in Em’s music video for “Tobey” earlier this year, but to see him donning his o;d persona back right on stage was thrilling.

Kicking off his set with “Lucifer” from his latest album “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)”, the Detroit legend sent chills through the crowd with his eerie yet epic entrance.

The Jason mask, a nod to his earlier Slim Shady LP days, was a surprise no one saw coming. Fans erupted when Eminem appeared on stage with the same mask he wore during his performances back in the late ’90s, signalling that Slim Shady is still very much alive and well in 2024. Having risen from hell in the casket bathed on infernal flame, Em burst out of the coffin, sending the crowd into a frenzy. The haunting opener, “Lucifer”, set the perfect tone for a night filled with both old-school hits and fresh bangers.

It was not just a performance but a moment that reminded everyone of the darker, edgier side of Eminem’s persona, and fans could not get enough of it. If you missed it, don’t worry — you can catch the epic entrance and the “Lucifer” performance right here.
