Adding 2.2% to a previous record-breaking streaming day number, “Houdini” gained 8.7 million new streams on June 4.
On May 31, “Houdini” exploded onto the scene with a phenomenal 7.9 million streams. The following day, the pace started slowing down to 7.2 million streams. A slight dip to 6.8 million streams continued the downward trend, but the end of the weekend saw the audience returning to its listening habits. On June 3, “Houdini” bounced back with 8.5 million streams. And on June 4, Shady pulled another rabbit out of his hat with a record-breaking 8.7 million streams.
When you add it all up, “Houdini” has amassed a total of 39 million streams in under a week so far.
Not only is “Houdini” dominating the charts, but people listen to Marshall’s whole catalogue. With the new single ranked at No.2 on the Spotify Global Songs chart, there are five other Em’s songs made it to the list:
No.2 (=) “Houdini” 8.7 million
No.56 (+17) “Without Me” 2.1 million
No.128 (+19) “Mockingbird” 1.5 million
No.139(+45) “The Real Slim Shady” 1.5 million
No.176 (RE) “Lose Yourself” 1.4 million
No.194 (-41) “Smack That” 1.3 million
Interestingly, the only song that has not improved its performance is the one where Shady is listed as a featured artist. It only makes sense to see that on June 4, Eminem reigned supreme on Spotify as the rap artist with the most lead streams, pulling in an impressive 30.5 million streams. This achievement puts him ahead of rap stars like Drake (28.1 million), Kendrick Lamar (24.5 million), Travis Scott (17.9 million), Kanye West (16.5), million and Future (16.2 million).
It is easy to see that audiences worldwide have to love “Houdini”. These impressive numbers show that all eyes are on Marshall’s triumphant return. With the track still climbing the charts, there’s no telling where it will stop.
So, keep streaming “Houdini” and celebrate Shady’s magical run.
