Eminem’s recent hit “Houdini” has officially surpassed 700 million streams on Spotify, marking another major achievement in Em’s new era.
The track is now his 20th song to cross the milestone and the first from “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” to do so.
Released as the lead single from his twelfth studio album, “Houdini” became Eminem’s biggest hit in recent years. The song not only revived Slim Shady’s mischievous alter ego but also reminded listeners of Em’s enduring appeal across generations.
Global Chart Success
Upon release, “Houdini” debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Global and No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100 (June 15, 2024). In the US, it generated 48.8 million streams and sold 49,000 copies in its first week. It marked Eminem’s 23rd Top 10 hit in the US and his highest-charting single since “The Monster” a decade earlier.
Notably, “Houdini” also broke into the US Alternative Airplay chart, debuting at No.35. It became Eminem’s first appearance there in over 20 years, since “Lose Yourself” in 2002.
Internationally, the song’s success was even more striking. In Canada, “Houdini” debuted at No.1, becoming Eminem’s sixth chart-topper there. In the UK, it stormed to the top of the Singles Chart on June 7, 2024, moving 104,800 units, including 13.3 million streams.
It became his 11th UK No.1 single, and also his first without a feature since “Like Toy Soldiers” (2005). “Houdini” held the top spot for two consecutive weeks, marking his strongest UK chart run in over two decades. Swiftly, “Houdini” had the strongest opening week of the year in the UK.
The song also hit No.1 in Australia, becoming his eighth chart-topper there and his first to reach the ARIA summit since “The Monster” in 2013.
