“Detroit 2” offers a rare opportunity to listen to a collaborative track that unites Detroit rappers of different generations, opinions and lifestyles.
That’s for the first time when we see Tee Grizzly, Kash Doll, Cash Kidd, Payroll, Sada Baby and 42 Dugg on one track with Boldy James, Royce da 5’9” and Eminem. It was indeed something difficult to imagine just yesterday.
However, Big Sean planned this track as a symbol of the unity and strength of the Detroit hip hop scene. In his recent interview he said:
It’s definitely a moment on the album where the city comes together, even people who are rumored to have misunderstandings and beef.
The track was produced by Hit-Boy, who celebrated working with Eminem again for the first time since he made an appearance on Lil Wayne’s “Drop the World” in 2010.
