The latest Eminem and Dr. Dre signee explains the meaning behind the lyrics on his Shady Records inaugural single and reveals who inspired his closing flow on the track.

This is how Genius introduced the latest Verified episode with Ez Mil:

Ez Mil sat down with Genius to discuss his hit “Realest,” which has been streamed over 13 million times on Spotify to date. The hit song features veteran MC Eminem and is off Ez Mil’s mot recent project DU4LI7Y: REDUX. On today’s episode of Verified, find out how the young rapper collaborated with his GOAT Eminem, which eventually led to him being signed to Shady Records, and Dr. Dre’s Aftermath and Interscope Records.

The whole episode is worth the watch, but here are excerpts when Ez Mil talks about Em

When I first heard Em’s verse I straight snapped. That’s crazy. He did my flow, and more, and then he also did a speed up. Man, come on!

My girl got an email. It said, “Paul Rosenberg, Shady, Goliath records. How to connect to Ez Mil? This is Paul”. She thought it was fake because this was so casual. It had to be our people from Virgin to give us a shrug, like, “hey, yo, this is actuallu pretty serious”. And then when I found out that I was meeting Em and Dre… It’s still crazy.

This song I was just paying homage to the GOAT because it’s an honour to be on a song with him.

I knew they were gonna hate that flow. But it’s because they suck. They don’t know how to do it properly. I learned how to do that flow by listening to a lot of Eminem and Tech N9ne. What inspired me to try to do that was “Speedom”. That song is just nuts.

Em is the GOAT to me because of the transparency he puts in his lyrics.
