The charming English singer/songwriter dropped his comeback single “Bad Habits”, reflecting on the unhealthy nightlife style. He says Eminem was the one to teach him that he didn’t have to follow it to stay successful in show business.

Yesterday, the Internet exploded with Ed Sheeran’s interviews to multiple outlets. He talked about life changes that he made to accommodate his fatherhood in every single one of them. However, in the conversation with TodayFM he credited Eminem specifically for showing him that it is possible to have both a family and a career if you are willing to build a healthy routine.

The young pop star, who has two joints with Em (“River” from “Revival” and “Remember the Name” from Sheeran’s “No.6 Collaborations Project”), told to a radio host:

In music, especially in the American music industry, it’s like a normal thing to work from 6 pm to 6 am, but that’s not a normal schedule at all. The normal schedule is what they call a 9 to 5. I actually learned it from… not to namedrop, but Eminem does it. Eminem is strict. He gets in there at 10, and he leaves at 5, no matter what. Lunch is when lunch is, and you get off, and you eat lunch, and then you come back. And there is no fluidity, this is it, and this is the way it works. And it works! If you have a family, your family can’t rely on someone who is fluid. Like, “Yeah, I feel like I’ll do this…” It has to be “I’m gonna be there at this time, and then I’m gonna leave at this time”. So people know the structure.
