The former Shady Records standout is teaming up with UFC’s star-turned-label boss for a fresh chapter in his career.

Detroit’s own Obie Trice has signed with Conor McGregor’s Greenback Records. The UFC legend has been building his label quietly, and now he’s bringing in Slim Shady’s former protégé.

The first drop under the new partnership is “TBH [To Be Honest]”, hitting all streaming platforms this Friday, September 12. Greenback Records recently put out Xzibit’s album Kingmaker, so the label is clearly moving with intent.

Obie Trice’s résumé speaks for itself. Eminem put him into the opening snippet in “Without Me”, as well as 8 Mile – both a movie and an OST. After that, his Shady Records debut “Cheers” went double platinum and gave us classics like “Got Some Teeth”.

Will this be a one-off single or the start of a new run? With McGregor’s money and Obie’s pen game, fans could be in for more than just a quick collaboration. Either way, this link-up is one to watch.
