The Official Charts UK website published the list of the Top 40 biggest albums of 2022. Marshall’s first greatest hits compilation is ranked higher than new albums from Doja Cat and Kendrick Lamar.

“Curtain Call: The Hits” enjoys the spot inside the Top 10 of the most successful albums this year, despite being released 18 years ago. Sitting at No.6, the project is the only hip hop record that made it that high. Doja Cat’s “Planet Her”, the second hip hop album on the list, is ranked 24th. Dave and his record “We’re All Alone In This Together” follows at No.25. “Certified Lover Boy” by Drake ranked 34th, and Kendrick’s “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” got itself No.36. “Home Alone 2” from the UK sensation D-Block Europe has barely made it to the list and sits at No.40.

Six hip hop albums on the list of 40 are not that much but competition with pop records is tight in the UK. Yet still, the only rap album that made it to the Top 10 was a classic compilation from Eminem. It seems like somebody is listening to him, don’t you think?
