Devon Sawa, the actor who brought Stan to life, is revisiting his experience nearly 25 years later.

In a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight, Sawa took a trip down memory lane while promoting season 3 of his TV show “Chucky”. He talked about some of his most impactful roles, including the one that solidified him in music video history. Sawa recalled:

That video shoot was wild. They told me on the day I was going to lip sync it. Like, by the way, you’re going to lip sync the song, here’s the lyrics. And after the first take I did, Dr. Dre running in and being like, “Yeah, that was good, but can you try it with some rhythm this time?” I was like, oh my god! That was how the day went. But hey, it was an iconic video shoot. Dre was there, D12, Snoop might’ve been there, Cypress Hill… crazy three days of filming.

In an unexpected twist, Sawa reveals that he wasn’t the first choice for Stan:

Full disclosure, they went out to Macaulay Culkin first. I believe they wanted him and he wasn’t available or didn’t want to do it. For whatever reason, it didn’t work out. Luckily, Dre saw “Final Destination” and was a fan of mine. Big shoutout to whoever in the casting office knew someone who knew someone who knew me! Ended up being a perfect fit.

Sawa even admitted he still knows all the words (probably better than he did back then!):

If it comes on in my car, I can’t help but jam along. Millions of listens later, and it’s still stuck in my head!
