Crooked I says “Glass House” is “90 percent done,” speaks on the status of lyricism in today’s Hip Hop.
Slaughterhouse emcee Crooked I recently offered an update on the status of the group’s third studio album, Glass House, during an interview with Vlad TV.
According to Crooked I, the album is “90 percent done” and will include production from J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Cardiak, and a handful of other beatsmiths.
Although fellow Slaughterhouse member Joe Budden previously revealed that Eminem’s assistance on Glass House had been limited, Crooked I says the Detroit rapper has been “involved at all times.”
“It’s been great,” Crooked I said in regards to the recording process for Glass House. “Just Blaze executive producer. You know what I’m saying? We got J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, AraabMuzik, Illmind, Cardiak. Eminem is involved at all times. It’s a great thing, man. It was dope to put that together. It’s like 90 percent done right now.”
Later in the interview, Crooked I was asked to name his three favorite lyricists. The Long Beach, California emcee named Jay Z and Eminem, but was unable to name a third artist.
“Ah, man. Top 3? It really hasn’t changed,” he said. “Em, Jay. I don’t know who in that third spot right now…After ‘Rap God’ Em kinda said ‘Hey, you still can’t fuck with me.’”
In regards to newer rap artists and lyricism, Crooked I had this to say: “We do got some people that’s representing. But if you turn on the radio you might not know that.”
