Eminem Abu Dhabi 2019

Complex gives it a cautious 18% chance, and here’s what we know.

Eminem has landed on Complex’s list of the 50 Most Anticipated Albums of 2026. But before fans start clearing space on their playlists, the odds come with a warning. Editors gave the possibility of a new Eminem project a modest +460, roughly an 18% chance.

It’s not nothing. But it’s far from a guarantee.

What fuels the speculation?

The odds stem from a recent Us Weekly report about Eminem’s legal move against reality TV stars from The Real Housewives of Potomac. That article confirmed that Marshall Mathers is “currently hard at work on various projects”, though it didn’t mention music specifically.

Still, fans and critics alike are reading between the lines. Could he be quietly crafting something new behind the scenes?

Unfinished business

In 2025, Eminem released The Death of Slim Shady, an album that felt like a send-off to his infamous alter ego. While some saw it as a final chapter, others believe it may have just been a transformation.

If it was a curtain call, it didn’t come with a tour. A mini-tour in the Middle East in late 2024 was not accessible for the majority of Em’s fanbase. That absence has left fans hopeful for one more act.

What could 2026 bring?

Some speculate that a collaborative project might come first. Royce 5’9 has hinted that he’s back in the studio after overcoming a health issue, and Bad Meets Evil have such visceral energy that might be exactly what Royce needs at this stage.

Although Eminem tends to take his time between albums, surprises aren’t off the table. With renewed energy in the Detroit scene, the right moment could spark a new release sooner than expected.
