Ca$his showed himself a well-versed battle rapper in California before Eminem signed him to Shady records in 2004. He became a flagship young artist of the label taking prominent part in recording a platinum-selling Shady Records compilation “Eminem Presents: The Re-Up”. He still remembers the day when Eminem called him after hearing the record Ca$His sent to Shady records:

– A demo, like some real hip-hop demo shit. In the mail! A demo coming from LA in the middle of New York. It was like one in a life-time thing, it was destined to happen. I’ve been with the labels and I’ve seen what they do, man. Dart Parker who was A&R, such a man, he has his vision, he hit back to my manager. And then Em called like two days later and I was in a barbershop, I was like “Who’s that? Later!” and he called again and I like “Hallo” and he was like, ”No, for real, that’s Eminem”. And in the middle of the conversation, I found out. Because in the beginning, I was chilling. I put him on speaker, like, “Niggas, that’s Eminem! Listen! You hear that voice? That’s Eminem right here”. Niggas like “Whaaaaat?!”
